Code of Ethics

In order to fulfill its mission of providing technology support to its users. SAB grants access to the University's computers and online resources. This access imposes upon the SAB users the responsibility and obligation to use systems in an ethical, professional, and legal manner that is strictly within authorized functions.

SAB is committed to advancing the ethical and responsible use of all computers and online resources. The goals of SAB Code-of-Ethics are to create a culture that fosters trust and a commitment to responsibility, excellence, and institutional and personal integrity, while avoiding conflicts of interest and appearances of impropriety. SAB will not tolerate illegal, dishonest, improper, or irresponsible use of access.

In exchange for the access granted and as a condition of admission, users agree to abide by all SAB Policy on Acceptable Use of Computer and Online Resources with the understanding that SAB administration may change, rescind or add policies with or without prior notice. SAB users must subscribe to the following statements:

take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access, user identifications,
or other information that may be used to access the systems.
limit access to information contained in or obtained from the systems to only
             authorized people.
diligently protect all confidential information from unauthorized disclosure.
seek guidance from an appropriate SAB staff whenever unsure of the correct decision
regarding appropriate use, confidentiality, or access. The user will do so BEFORE
he/she takes any action on the support issue in question.
refrain from sharing, recording, copying, transmitting, deleting, or in any way altering
information in these systems except when required to perform functions as a user.
abide by all licensing and copyright agreements.
immediately report any incidents of noncompliance with the terms of this agreement
             to an appropriate SAB administrator.
observe the University's policies on the user conduct and/or academic honesty.

This agreement applies to ALL systems owned or operated by the University, which may include, but is not limited to, desktop computers; student information systems; learning management systems; e-mail systems; file servers; online course management systems; and the local, wide-area, and wireless networks.

SAB considers any violation of these standards to be a serious offense. SAB users must understand that violation of this agreement may be subject to disciplinary action. Additional legal actions may also be taken as per the new Information Technology Crime Law in Saudi Arabia.
