Dr. Ami Suhana Abdul Menon is a seasoned academic and industry professional with over 20 years of combined experience in marketing, international business, and research methodology. She earned her PhD in Management from Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has an extensive publication record in SCOPUS- and ERA-indexed journals, focusing on brand loyalty, modest fashion marketing, social media engagement, and tourism marketing.
From 2014 to 2024, Dr. Menon served as Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School, leading curriculum development, supervising PhD and MBA candidates, and fostering industry–academia collaborations. She has contributed to book chapters, served as a peer reviewer for SCOPUS-indexed journals, and presented her research at international conferences.
Her current research explores inclusive tourism for children with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), integrating sensory marketing and cultural ecosystem services. With a focus on Malaysia, this research is conducted in collaboration with an eco-tourism resort operator and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia to collect empirical data through field studies and stakeholder engagement. The project aims to generate actionable insights that can enhance sensory-friendly tourism offerings and contribute to inclusive tourism development in Malaysia and beyond, including comparative perspectives with Saudi Arabia.
As of January 2025, she is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business Studies, Arab Open University in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Her corporate career (2004–2014) spanned roles at several government-linked companies where she advanced from Executive to Managerial positions in investor relations, product development, corporate communications, and the CEO’s office. She successfully managed investor portfolios, developed marketing and branding strategies, executed promotional campaigns, involved in product launches, and provided strategic support to top management in business development, stakeholder engagement, and corporate governance.
Transitioning to academia, Dr. Menon served from 2014 to 2024 as Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Business School. She taught a wide range of subjects in marketing, international business, strategic management, and innovation; supervised and examined numerous PhD, Master’s, and MBA research projects; and contributed to curriculum development, including designing a new degree program such as the Bachelor of Digital Marketing (Hons). She also held leadership roles, including Head of Section for Marketing and International Business, spearheading program reviews and fostering industry–academia collaborations.
In 2023–2024, Dr. Menon served as a researcher and committee member in the Education and Human Capital Cluster for the Kongres Ekonomi Bumiputera 2024 — a national initiative joint collaboration by Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and officially launched by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The congress served as a high-level platform to address strategic economic, social, and human capital development issues affecting the Bumiputera community. As a researcher in the cluster, Dr. Menon conducted literature reviews, analysed policy documents, and examined qualitative and quantitative data to produce actionable insights. Among her key contributions was analysing data from focus group discussions involving industry practitioners, the public, and key stakeholders. These findings informed strategic recommendations on education reform, workforce readiness, and skills development, contributing directly to policy proposals aimed at enhancing Malaysia’s human capital ecosystem in line with national economic aspirations.
