Yehia Al-Sohbani is a Professor of Applied Linguistics at Arab Open University, Faculty of language studies, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Yehia worked as a teacher educator at the Department of
English, Faculty of Education, Sana’a University and Ibb University, Yemen. He worked as a visiting Assistant
Professor and Head of the TEFL department at Ajman University of Science and Technology in the UAE. He has
published a number of papers on reading strategies, teaching reading, teaching listening, translation, attitudes and
motivation in learning English as a foreign language and other factors affecting learning and teaching English.
I have been teaching for 23 years after I got PhD.
